Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has praised Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman following the youngster’s impressive start to life at the club.

Osman joined the Blues on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the 2025/26 season, after spending the first half of the campaign with French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre.

The 22-year-old made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut in Birmingham City’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City. He capitalised on an early mistake by Ricardo Pereira in the third minute to open the scoring, before fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku added a second to register his seventh goal of the season.

Speaking to the club’s media after the match, Davies highlighted Osman’s directness, bravery and work ethic.

“He’s been a great outlet for us — real speed, loves to be one-v-one. I want him to take risks. I love his positivity and want him to keep that fearlessness, but what I love most is that he combines it with hard work,” Davies said.

“He works hard for the team. He will run, he’ll press, he’ll do the dirty side of the game really well, and he did that,” he added.

The win lifts Birmingham City to 10th in the Championship, with Osman hoping to maintain his strong form when the Blues host West Bromwich Albion at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Tuesday.
