The Chief of Adukrom and Nifahene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, has urged Ghanaian youth to respect their elders and desist from insulting public officials on social media, emphasizing the importance of living exemplary lives.
He made the call while speaking at the coronation ceremony of the newly enskinned Tufuhene of Akuapem Adukrom, Nana Ayisi Koranteng, held in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.
Addressing attendees, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V expressed concern over a growing trend among young people who, without fully experiencing life or contributing meaningfully to society, use social media to insult senior citizens and highly respected personalities.
The Chief stressed the need for the youth to uphold respect, discipline, and strong moral values, particularly online, to preserve the dignity of traditional authority and promote social harmony.
Meanwhile, the newly enskinned Tufuhene, Nana Ayisi Koranteng, pledged to attract non-governmental organizations, development partners, and international investors to support the development of the Akuapem Adukrom area. He also committed to completing abandoned school projects and called on the community to unite in fostering local progress.
