The chiefs and people of Krachi State—comprising Krachi East, Krachi Nchumburu, Krachi West and surrounding areas—under the leadership of the Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, have expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for initiating plans to construct a bridge over the Oti River to spur socio-economic development.

Speaking to Adom News, Convenor of the Krachi Youth Association, Ben McCarthy Ntoso, said the multi-million-dollar project, when completed, will significantly boost growth and development within the Krachi enclave, the Oti and Northern Regions, and the country at large.

He noted that the people are excited not only because the President has spoken about the project, but also because there is tangible evidence showing that the long-awaited bridge is becoming a reality.

According to him, the initiative has moved beyond political rhetoric and is now visibly taking shape on the ground, reflecting the President’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of the people in the area and Ghanaians generally.

Mr. Ntoso urged traditional leaders to unite and support the successful completion of the project, stressing the importance of collective ownership.

He also raised concerns about comments calling on the government not to reroute the bridge from Dambai, pointing out that the project will facilitate the free movement of goods and services, reduce poverty, and address other economic challenges confronting the area.
