7-year-old girl killed, two siblings injured in tricycle accident at Adankwame

An accident involving a tricycle, popularly known as Pragyia, has claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl and left two of her siblings injured at Adankwame in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.

The Pragyia rider reportedly knocked down the three children while they were standing by the roadside in front of the Adankwame Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Rasmiya Abdul Rahaman. The two injured siblings are Rasmid Abdul Rahaman and Musharraf Abdul Rahaman, aged 7 and 11 years respectively.

Their father, Musah Yussiff, confirmed the incident to Adom News and said the injured children are currently receiving medical treatment.

An eyewitness recounted that the children were standing by the roadside waiting to cross when the rider lost control and ran over them.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the family house in accordance with Islamic customs, pending police clearance for burial.

The rider also sustained injuries in the accident and has been admitted to the Asuofua Government Hospital for treatment.
