Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has insisted his side has no excuse for any slip-up against Aduana FC in this weekend’s MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash.
Zito’s comments come on the back of Kotoko’s disappointing 3–1 defeat to Heart of Lions on Matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League at the Kpando Sports Stadium last Saturday.
The former Black Satellites coach stressed that he is still targeting a season double, with ambitions of winning both the league title and the FA Cup, and believes his team must respond strongly against Aduana.
“Definitely, we have to win that game against Aduana FC. We don’t have any excuse because my main objective is to win the league or the FA Cup — or even the double. So definitely, I have to work hard because we cannot afford to lose to Aduana,” Zito said.
Kotoko will host their regional rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend in what is expected to be a high-stakes encounter.
