Parts of Ghana are expected to experience thunderstorms later tonight as generally sunny conditions give way to increasing cloud cover and rainfall in sections of the southern half of the country.

According to the latest weather forecast, most areas will remain sunny this afternoon, with occasional cloudiness expected over parts of southern Ghana.

However, from late afternoon into the evening, localised thunderstorms or rain are likely to develop in selected areas. The affected locations include Ho, Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, and Kete Krachi, where residents are advised to prepare for possible evening storms.

Meanwhile, northern Ghana is expected to remain dry and hazy throughout the forecast period, with visibility ranging between 3,000 and 8,000 metres.

Authorities have also cautioned that cold weather conditions are expected during the night and early morning hours across the northern and transition zones.

Due to the prevailing dry conditions, particularly in the north, the public has been strongly advised to handle naked flames with extreme caution to prevent fire outbreaks.
