The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a violent robbery attack that occurred in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.
The robbery took place on December 2, 2025, when the suspects, together with other accomplices armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa road and launched coordinated attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company and the Asutifi Rural Bank area.
During the attack, the assailants made away with two AK-47 rifles, an unspecified amount of cash from the rural bank, GH¢14,000 from the cocoa buying company and GH¢12,000 from the gold buying company. An employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was also shot and injured.
Following sustained intelligence-led operations and forensic investigations, officers from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit arrested Mutar Kofi, 35, a commercial tricycle rider, on January 16, 2026, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. Police say he admitted involvement in the robbery.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Mahamadu Sagio, 45, at Nkaseim; Shaibu Issah Jallo, alias Jibo, 28, at Chereponi; and Abdul Suleman, 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region.
On January 25, 2026, another suspect, Bukari Sulley, alias Tailor, 25, a trader operating at Alaba in Kumasi, was also arrested.
Police say efforts have been intensified to arrest three remaining suspects identified as Dauda, Mohammed Ali and Hoyeefi.
Hoyeefi has been identified as the alleged leader of the robbery gang and is believed to be in possession of the stolen rifles and other firearms used during the attack.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all remaining suspects will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
