Some delegates in the Ledzokuku Constituency have confirmed receiving cash support from all the leading aspirants contesting the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary.
While some delegates described the money as transportation assistance to enable them travel to voting centres, others openly disclosed the exact amounts they received from the various camps.
Speaking to Adom News, Tsui Bleoo Electoral Area Coordinator, Francis Kwarteng, said he received financial support from three contenders.
According to him, Dr Bryan Acheampong gave him ₵700, while Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong each provided ₵500, bringing the total amount he received to ₵1,700.
Mr Kwarteng explained that the funds were presented as logistical support ahead of the primary, noting that many delegates depend on such assistance to cover transportation and other election-day expenses.
Similar confirmations have emerged from other parts of the constituency, with delegates sharing their experiences amid the highly competitive NPP flagbearer race.
The development has reignited discussions around campaign financing and delegate support in internal party elections, as the NPP prepares to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
