Cabinet has given the green light for the withdrawal of all state lands that were disposed of without following proper legal and administrative procedures, in a move aimed at protecting public property and ensuring value for money for the state.

The decision, according to government, is part of broader efforts to safeguard national assets and bring transparency into land administration.

Addressing the issue during a working visit by Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, said the directive would be enforced without exception.

He cautioned that once the review and revocation exercise is completed, public officials would no longer be able to unlawfully benefit from state lands.

“The names of those who have acquired state lands without due process will be made public,” the minister stated, adding that the ministry will not shield anyone found culpable.

Mr Buah emphasised that the Lands Ministry is committed to strictly implementing Cabinet’s decision to restore integrity in the management of state lands and prevent future abuse of the system.

He noted that the exercise is expected to enhance accountability and ensure that state lands are used in the public interest rather than for private gain.
