Access to quality education at Motoka No2 D/A Basic School in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region remains a major challenge for students.
The school lacks proper classrooms and furniture, forcing pupils to hold lessons outdoors under trees, sitting on stones, or directly on the ground. A visit by Adom News revealed that this inadequate infrastructure is hampering students’ academic progress.
The PTA Chairman, Solomon Wajon, explained that classes often end abruptly whenever bad weather threatens, sending students home.

He added that community members have built makeshift structures after repeated appeals to the District Assembly and successive governments went unanswered.

Because of these challenges, some parents send their children to schools elsewhere, despite wanting them to remain in the community.

Wajon also lamented the shortage of learning materials and other logistics, which further affects attendance and education quality.

Residents called on the government, philanthropists, and organizations to provide decent school facilities, stressing that proper classrooms and furniture are essential for improving education in rural areas.
