Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has rejoined Cagliari on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
The 22-year-old, who is under contract with Bologna, completed the move on Wednesday during the winter transfer window.
Sulemana struggled for playing time following his permanent move from Atalanta last summer, making just four appearances this season. Several Serie A clubs, including Genoa and Sassuolo, had expressed interest, but the midfielder opted for a return to Sardinia, where he previously enjoyed a productive spell.
During the 2023/24 season, he featured in 24 matches for Cagliari, scoring twice, before moving to Atalanta in 2024.
The loan move is seen as an opportunity for Sulemana to rediscover form and boost his chances of earning a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He could make his return this weekend when Cagliari face Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
