As a subsidiary of the Ghana Gold Board, GoldBod Jewellery has emerged as a game-changer in Ghana’s gold industry, driving value addition and redefining the local jewellery market.
The company recently announced the restructuring and rebranding of its fully owned Ghanaian jewellery manufacturing company, incorporated in 2016. The initiative aims to provide customers with authentic, exquisite locally crafted jewellery and encourage the patronage of made-in-Ghana products.
The rebranding and value-addition drive have received praise from industry stakeholders and individuals in the extractive sector.
In a major step toward positioning Ghana as a global jewellery powerhouse, GoldBod also launched its new e-commerce platform, jewellery.goldbod.gov.gh.

Addressing media and partners at the launch event, Managing Director of GoldBod Jewellery, Getrude Emefa Donkor Esq., said the initiative marks a new era in Ghana’s gold value-addition agenda, ending the longstanding cycle of exporting raw gold only to import high-value jewellery from abroad.
“Today, we break that cycle. Today, we are changing that story forever,” she declared.
Ms. Donkor explained that the rebrand aims to boost domestic production of high-quality jewellery, reduce Ghana’s dependence on imports, and showcase the nation’s rich gold heritage.
“This initiative will provide customers with unique, made-in-Ghana pieces while supporting local craftsmanship and strengthening the economy,” she added.
