The government and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) have reached a mutual agreement to resolve issues linked to a US$750 million financing facility signed in 2022, paving the way for continued cooperation on Ghana’s development priorities.
The Ministry of Finance announced the breakthrough in a joint statement issued on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Accra.
The Ministry confirmed that all outstanding concerns surrounding the facility have been addressed to the satisfaction of both parties.
According to the statement, the resolution clears the path for the government and Afreximbank to sustain their long-standing partnership, which plays a key role in supporting economic recovery, trade, and development initiatives in the country.

The Ministry of Finance and Afreximbank reaffirmed their shared commitment to working together in advancing Ghana’s development agenda, stressing that the outcome reflects constructive engagement and mutual understanding between the two institutions.
The statement was issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Finance and marked as effective immediately.
