Stakeholders in Obuasi have launched the annual “Kwan So Dwoo Dwoo” road safety campaign aimed at reducing accidents and saving lives during the Christmas season.

The campaign, held at Obuasi Hossi Park in the Ashanti Region, was launched under the theme “Zero Accident, Saving Lives.” It seeks to promote responsible road use as vehicular movement increases during the festive period.

Speaking to Adom News after the launch, Massey, a stakeholder and Land Management Superintendent, emphasized the importance of safety in everyday life, especially during festive seasons when road traffic is high. He explained that the “Kwan So Dwoo Dwoo” initiative is designed to educate the public on road and personal safety to help prevent accidents.

Drivers, passengers, and other stakeholders at the event shared key safety messages. Some drivers and passengers urged motorists to avoid drinking and driving, while others appealed to passengers to refrain from pressuring drivers to speed. Participants also advised drivers to regularly inspect their vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and to strictly obey road signs to reduce accidents.

The campaign is expected to promote safer road use and protect lives throughout the Christmas season.
