A 25-year-old man has been found dead, hanging from a container shop in the Upper Denkyira West District, sparking tension and suspicion among relatives and community members.
According to local sources, the deceased, whose name is yet to be released, had reportedly been battling a mental disorder believed to have developed from a prolonged addiction to smoking.
Residents say his condition had deteriorated in recent months, and he had been seen wandering within the community.
Despite his known condition, family members insist the circumstances surrounding his death are questionable. They claim the young man may have been murdered and the scene staged to look like suicide.
They expressed doubt about the position and state of the body when it was discovered.
Police have since conveyed the body to the morgue as investigations begin to determine what led to the tragic incident.
Authorities say they will rely on a post-mortem examination and forensic analysis to establish whether the death was self-inflicted or a criminal act.
