Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Betty Krosbi-Mensah, has expressed confidence in the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The tournament’s draw, held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., on Friday, December 5, 2025, placed Ghana in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

While some football fans have expressed doubts about Ghana’s chances, recalling the team’s early exit from the 2022 World Cup, Krosbi-Mensah remains optimistic that the 2026 edition will favour the Black Stars.

“We’re well prepared to face any team like Brazil or Spain, and we are not worried or disturbed. Looking at Ghana’s group, we are not afraid of England, Croatia, and Panama,” she said.

“I’m very confident that this World Cup will favour Ghana because we are not just participating, but proving that we have the talent and the men to deliver,” she added.

The 2026 tournament will mark Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance since making their debut in Germany in 2006.

With Otto Addo leading the technical team, the Black Stars aim to build on their past performances, including their historic quarter-final run in South Africa in 2010.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 countries — the largest in the tournament’s history — and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
