A high-level youth policy dialogue on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) concluded in Jema, Kintampo South District, with renewed commitments to safeguarding young people and enhancing access to youth-friendly health services in the Bono East Region.
Held on December 4, 2025, the event was organised by the Renel Ghana Foundation on behalf of AfriYAN Ghana, in partnership with UNFPA Ghana and PPAG. It brought together 26 participants, including youth leaders, traditional rulers, religious authorities, artisan groups, and representatives of state institutions.

The dialogue addressed pressing issues such as rising teenage pregnancies, underreported SGBV cases, psychological abuse, child labour, exploitation of apprentices, and other harmful cultural practices affecting young people.
Experts from CHRAJ, the Department of Social Welfare, and the Ghana Health Service facilitated discussions on human rights protection, SGBV prevention, and adolescent reproductive health.

Participants called for stronger youth-friendly health services, increased parental involvement, and intensified community sensitisation through religious and educational platforms.
At the conclusion of the engagement, stakeholders pledged to develop community bylaws to protect children, strengthen SGBV reporting and accountability systems, promote comprehensive reproductive health education, and ensure greater youth participation in district-level policy dialogues.
AfriYAN Ghana, Renel Ghana Foundation, UNFPA Ghana, and PPAG reaffirmed their commitment to advancing SRHR, preventing violence, and empowering young people nationwide.
