Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu on Saturday, December 6, led members of the Police Management Board and senior officers in a show-of-force exercise using the Ghana Police Service’s newly acquired armoured vehicles, signalling heightened security preparedness ahead of the Christmas season.

The drill, carried out across parts of Accra, showcased the operational strength of the Service as officers manoeuvred the armoured carriers in a coordinated display aimed at deterring criminal activity and reassuring the public of increased police presence during the festive period.

The IGP, after receiving the vehicles on Thursday, December 4, encouraged officers to remain motivated and step up efforts to combat crime across the country, assuring them of the government’s continuous support.

President John Dramani Mahama also noted that the 40 armoured vehicles represent the first phase of a broader plan to boost the operational capacity of the Ghana Police Service.
