Ghana will face England, Croatia and Panama in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting up a challenging path for the Black Stars when the global showpiece begins in North America next year.
The team opens its campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17 in Dallas, marking their return to the World Cup stage with a young squad eager to make a mark after early exits in 2014 and 2022.
The tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, kicks off on June 11 and concludes with the final at MetLife Stadium on July 26.
This edition introduces an expanded 48-team format, replacing the traditional 32-nation setup. A total of 12 groups have been created, while 22 countries will compete in playoff qualifiers in March for the final six slots.
The competition will feature 104 matches across 16 venues, with 78 of those taking place in 11 NFL stadiums in the United States, including all fixtures from the quarterfinals onward.
Canada and Mexico will each stage 13 games. The final in New Jersey will also debut the first-ever World Cup halftime show.
Under the revised structure, group winners, runners-up and the eight best third-placed teams advance to an expanded round of 32. The eventual champions are expected to play eight matches en route to lifting the trophy.
