Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, is confident that Ghana’s senior national team has the quality to make a deep run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After a disappointing 2024 campaign, the Black Stars bounced back to secure qualification for next summer’s tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Speaking ahead of today’s group-stage draw in Washington, DC, Appiah, who captained Ghana to its first-ever World Cup in Germany in 2006, expressed belief in the squad’s potential.
“The draw [2026 World Cup] is coming up in December, we are going to America, Canada and Mexico,” Appiah via Betway.
“We have done that before when we went to Germany. And I hope and I know with the calibre of players that we have, we’re going to make it in the next World Cup, which is next year [2026].
“Good luck. We need your support. We need your prayers. See you in America. See you in Mexico. See you in Canada. Go, Ghana,” he added.
Having exited at the group stage in Qatar 2022, the Black Stars are determined to make a stronger impression on football’s biggest stage next year.
