Ghana will today, Friday, December 5, mark the 2025 Farmers’ Day, celebrating farmers and fishers whose tireless efforts continue to sustain the nation’s food security and rural economy.
The 41st edition of the event officially opened on Monday, December 1, at the Ho Sports Stadium with the launch of the 2025 National Agricultural Fair. The opening ceremony attracted thousands of farmers, agripreneurs, policymakers, investors, and exhibitors from across the country.
This year’s celebration, themed “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” features a week-long exhibition of agricultural innovation, technology, and partnerships aimed at strengthening the country’s food systems and enhancing the sector’s resilience.
At today’s climax event, President John Dramani Mahama is expected to honour national best farmers across various crop categories and other key areas of agriculture.
Thousands of Ghanaians are also expected to participate in activities at the national, regional, and district levels, where outstanding farmers will be recognised for their productivity, innovation, and contributions to community development.
Established in 1985, Farmers’ Day remains a major national platform dedicated to acknowledging the indispensable role of farmers and fishers in Ghana’s growth and development.
