Foreign Affairs Minister assures strong Ghanaian representation at 2026 FIFA World Cup

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured soccer fans that Ghana will secure strong and adequate representation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Addressing Parliament, Ablakwa said his ministry is preparing to engage relevant consulates and embassies immediately after the World Cup draw on Friday, December 5, 2025.

He explained that these efforts aim to create opportunities for as many Ghanaian fans as possible to travel and support the Black Stars.

The Minister emphasised that access to World Cup travel arrangements will be open to all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion.

Ablakwa gave the assurance during the approval of a GH¢1.69 billion budget allocation to the Foreign Affairs Ministry for the 2026 financial year.
