The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a weather update warning residents of potential thunderstorms and rainfall in parts of the country today, Wednesday, December 4, 2025.
According to the forecast, coastal, inland, and middle sector areas are expected to experience cloudy conditions with intermittent rainfall during the morning hours. Areas likely to be affected include Aflao, Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, Ho, Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Sefwi Bekwai, Kete Krachi, and Kintampo.
Hilly and forested areas may also experience mist and fog patches, particularly in the early hours.
As the day progresses into the afternoon, southern Ghana is expected to enjoy sunny intervals with occasional cloudiness, while the extreme northern regions are likely to remain fairly dry with slightly hazy conditions.
Meteorologists anticipate that from late afternoon into the evening, localized thunderstorms or rainfall may occur over areas slightly north of the coastline, the middle belt, transition zones, and parts of the northern sector.
Residents in the upper regions should expect relatively cool temperatures during the night and early morning, reflecting seasonal variations. Authorities have advised motorists and the public to exercise caution, particularly in areas prone to flooding or reduced visibility due to mist and fog.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency continues to monitor developments and will issue updates as necessary to ensure public safety.
