Former Ghana Football Association president Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has urged the Black Stars’ technical team to build a formidable squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana returns to the global stage for a fifth time after topping Group I of the African qualifiers with 25 points, securing a place at the tournament, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Following the team’s early exit in Qatar two years ago, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe believes coach Otto Addo and his backroom staff must cast their net widely to assemble players capable of competing with the world’s elite.

“We should look for the best all over the world because it’s a World Cup and not just any ordinary tournament,” he told Graphic Sports.

“Look at the class of footballers in Europe and Latin America—we need quality that can match them,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe added.

Ghana will learn its group-stage opponents when the draw is conducted on December 5 in Washington, DC.
