Ghana coach Kim Lars Björkegren has praised the Black Queens’ performance despite their 2-0 defeat to England in Tuesday’s international friendly.
The Ghanaian side fell at St. Mary’s Stadium, with goals from Lucia Kendall and Alessia Russo in each half giving the European champions a comfortable win.
Björkegren acknowledged the gap in rankings but commended his players for standing up to a formidable opponent.
“As a coach, you always want to win,” he said. “But we are 67th in the world and faced a team that may be the best in the world right now.
“We can be proud of our performance, and we feel we are moving in the right direction,” he added.
The Black Queens will now turn their focus to preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, scheduled from 17 March to 3 April.
