Two trucks overturned near the Kibi Junction stretch of the Accra–Kumasi highway early this morning following a collision that left the busy corridor heavily congested for hours.
Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a Kumasi-bound cargo truck transporting bags of charcoal attempted to overtake another vehicle but misjudged the space ahead.

In the process, it collided with an oncoming truck carrying food enhancers heading toward Accra.
The impact caused both vehicles to topple onto their sides, spilling their loads across the road and partially blocking traffic in both directions.

Motorists travelling from Bunso, Kibi, and Apedwa were left stranded, with some reporting delays of more than an hour.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the National Road Safety Authority arrived at the scene to manage traffic and coordinate the clearing of the blocked section.
No fatalities have been reported so far.
Police have advised motorists using the Accra–Kumasi highway to exercise caution and expect slow movement as recovery operations continue.
