The Minority in Parliament says it will push for a full parliamentary inquiry into the widespread failure recorded in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to the Caucus, the probe is necessary to uncover the root causes of the poor performance and to guide meaningful reforms in the education sector.
Addressing the media, former Communications Director at the Education Ministry and MP for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, noted that past examination cycles, including the double-track system, produced better outcomes despite strong resistance from the then-opposition NPP.
He argued that allegations suggesting the previous government relied on leaked past questions to secure improved results must be clarified, insisting such claims cast a “huge disgrace” on Ghana’s examination system.
The Minority maintains that only a thorough parliamentary investigation can restore public confidence in the evaluation process and ensure accountability in upholding education standards.
