Member of Parliament for Bantama and former Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has described the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as “very strong, attractive and sound” in the Ashanti Region despite losing the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Asenso-Boakye said many residents in Kumasi have expressed regret over voting the NDC back into power.
He lamented the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which stalled several infrastructure projects, including planned major interchanges.
“The NPP’s strength in the Ashanti Region remains strong. I spoke with some people in Kumasi who expressed regret about not voting. The market women and traders are complaining about their sales being down.
“We had plans to create major interchanges, but financial crises disrupted everything. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted our governance and the economy. However, the NPP will return stronger,” he said.
