The Kejetia Fire Post in the Kumasi Metropolis has been reopened after undergoing major renovation works to address structural defects that posed safety risks to firefighters.

The post was temporarily relocated to the Kumasi Metro Fire Station earlier this year after developing severe structural cracks that threatened the safety of personnel.

Officials say the refurbished facility now meets all safety standards, following extensive reinforcement and improvement works.

Fire officers resumed duty at the renovated post on Monday, 1 December 2025, marking the restoration of full operations within one of Kumasi’s busiest commercial areas.

The Ghana National Fire Service expressed appreciation to the Kumasi City Authorities, the project contractor and the Kejetia Market Management for their support toward ensuring a safer and more functional working environment for personnel.

With the reopening, traders and shoppers at Kejetia can once again count on rapid emergency response within the enclave.
