The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread social media rumours claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.
In an official statement, the Service described the reports as “false,” emphasizing that the IGP is alive, well, and actively performing his duties.
“We urge our officers, family members, loved ones, and the general public to disregard these reports,” the statement said.
The Police Service also warned that circulating such “malicious, insensitive, and reckless claims” constitutes disinformation. Anyone found responsible will be identified and brought to justice.
The Service encouraged the public to remain calm and rely on credible sources for official information.
