The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, is set to give an official ruling on whether the Kpandai Member of Parliament, Matthew Nyindam, is eligible to conduct business in the House.
The ruling comes after a heated exchange between the minority and majority on Wednesday, November 26, during which the majority argued that the Tamale High Court’s annulment of the Kpandai constituency results bars Nyindam from presenting himself as the constituency’s MP.
The disagreement forced an abrupt adjournment of parliamentary proceedings.
Meanwhile, Matthew Nyindam maintains that he remains the legitimate MP for Kpandai despite the Tamale High Court ruling.
He made the remarks on JoyFM’s Top Story when asked why he continues to hold himself out as MP following the court’s decision.
