The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu Afram Plains South, Moses Tangmee, has urged people living with disabilities (PWDs) not to beg on the streets, noting that the government has provided support to help improve their livelihoods.
Speaking during a ceremony where 56 PWDs received assistance, the DCE explained that many beneficiaries have been supported to start small businesses, including acquiring fridges, cassava grinding machines, electric sawing machines, and cash grants.
He stressed that continuing to beg would undermine the government’s efforts.
Some beneficiaries thanked the government for the support and encouraged their peers to focus on managing their businesses for sustainable livelihoods rather than seeking alms on the roadside.
