Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has expressed concern over the injury sustained by Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante during their clash with Middlesbrough.

Thomas-Asante was forced off the pitch before the 30-minute mark, but Coventry went on to claim a 4-2 victory at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday, maintaining their position at the top of the Championship table.

Speaking after the match, Lampard confirmed the forward had suffered a hamstring issue and urged caution.

“It’s a hamstring. He said he didn’t feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him,” the Chelsea legend noted. “So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it’s a concern for us, and we’ll have to see how he is.”

Thomas-Asante is expected to undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury.

The 26-year-old has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 17 Championship appearances.

His impressive displays earned him the Championship Player of the Month award for October.
