Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) has marked its 10th anniversary with the commissioning of a new borehole and water purification system for La Enobal Basic School in Accra.

The project, implemented in partnership with United Way Ghana, reflects GFIM’s commitment to promoting social impact alongside its decade-long contribution to deepening Ghana’s fixed-income market.

The facility is expected to provide clean and safe drinking water to over 550 pupils and members of the surrounding community, improving sanitation and overall learning conditions.

Speaking on behalf of the GSE Managing Director, Ms Abena Amoah, Deputy Managing Director Frank Berle said the initiative underscores GFIM’s belief that the growth of financial markets should support broader national development.

“As we celebrate ten years of the Ghana Fixed Income Market, we are reminded that our growth must translate into impact beyond the capital market. Sustainable development begins with basic needs like access to clean water and sanitation,” he said.

Madam Perpetua Akafia, the School Improvement Support Officer and Acting Headteacher, expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely relief that would enhance hygiene and create a healthier learning environment.

The Member of Parliament for La Dade-Kotopon, Rita Odoley Sowah, also commended GFIM and urged pupils to maintain the facility to ensure its longevity.

The ceremony was attended by local authorities, traditional leaders, and officials of the Municipal Assembly. According to the GSE, GFIM will continue to support projects that uplift communities and advance national development beyond the financial sector.
