Police arrest suspects seen in viral video abusing two women

The Ghana Police Service has arrested 10 individuals in connection with a disturbing viral video showing two young women being physically assaulted in Dawuranpong.

The arrests were made by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

According to police, three suspects—Eric Donkor (alias Killer Block), 32; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24—were directly identified in the footage cutting the victims’ scalps with a sharp razor blade.

Another key suspect, Tawiah (also known as Awaga), who was seen in the video committing one of the attacks, is currently at large. Authorities say efforts are underway to track him down.

Seven others—Stevin Amu, 24; Farouk Balas, 18; Mensah Bernard, 18; Adu Baggeo, 23; Bismark Nyarko, 30; Akwesi Poku George, 18; and Oteng Alfred, 23—were arrested for aiding and abetting the crime and playing various roles that facilitated the assault.

All 10 arrested suspects are in custody and assisting with investigations, while the manhunt for Awaga continues.

The Police Administration said it is taking steps to ensure the victims receive the necessary support.
