Deputy Minister of the Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, has assured the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) of strong support from the newly established Security Fund, which is expected to resource all national security institutions.
He noted that government alone cannot fully fund the Fire Service, emphasising the need for individuals, corporate bodies, and other stakeholders to contribute toward strengthening the Service’s operational capacity.
Speaking at the 3rd Fire Conference 2025, held under the theme “Resourcing the Ghana National Fire Service for Effective Service Delivery: The Role of Stakeholders,” Mr. Terlabi underscored the importance of collective responsibility in enhancing fire safety and emergency response nationwide.
With the harmattan season approaching, he urged the public to prioritise fire safety and strictly adhere to preventive measures to avert avoidable fire outbreaks.
