Basake Holy Stars have appointed veteran Ghanaian coach Johnson Smith as their new head coach, following the resignation of Augustine Adotey.
The club made the announcement on their official Facebook page on Tuesday, November 25, welcoming Smith to the technical team.
“Basake Holy Stars warmly welcomes Johnson Smith to our technical team. His expertise and experience will be an asset to our club. We look forward to achieving more together,” the post read.
Smith joins the Stars after recently leaving fellow Ghana Premier League side Nations FC. He brings extensive experience, having managed several top-flight and lower-division clubs over the past decade.
In addition, he currently serves as an assistant coach for the Black Satellites, supporting head coach Maxwell Konadu.
He is expected to take charge of Basake Holy Stars’ dugout in their outstanding league fixture against Asante Kotoko at the AAK II Park today, Wednesday, November 26.
