Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested 27-year-old Sylvester Sowah, the man suspected of killing his girlfriend, Charlotte Obeng, popularly known as Biggest Abena, at Obuase Abompe.
According to residents, the couple had been involved in a dispute earlier in the day after Abena reportedly complained about Sowah’s persistent marijuana smoking, which she said was affecting her health.
Hours later, around 10 p.m., she was found dead inside Sowah’s room.
The suspect allegedly fled the community shortly after the incident.
Police later tracked him down and arrested him at the Kyekyewere barrier as he attempted to board a vehicle to an undisclosed destination.
Sowah has denied involvement in Abena’s death, but police say investigations are ongoing as he remains in custody.
Authorities are urging the public to remain calm as they work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.
