Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has expressed concern over Mohammed Kudus’ inconsistent form, suggesting the forward must find greater consistency to fully realise his potential.
Kudus returned from injury in Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium but struggled to make an impact before being substituted for Brennan Johnson midway through the second half.
Assessing the 25-year-old’s performance, Sherwood acknowledged Kudus’ quality but noted that his influence on the pitch fluctuates too often.
“Kudus is a breath of fresh air; he brings a lot to the team when he plays. But he still lacks the consistency to become an elite player,” Sherwood said.
Since arriving from West Ham during the summer transfer window, Kudus has scored just one goal in 11 appearances for Spurs.
He is expected to be included in the squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
