Democracy Hub convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor says he was robbed near the Achimota Overhead on Wednesday, November 20, losing several personal belongings in the process.

In a Facebook post shared shortly after the incident, he noted that the attack occurred less than 30 minutes before he made the update.

He listed the stolen items as his MacBook, iPad, Google Pixel 9, GH₵9,500 in cash, credit cards, house keys, two wallets, Sony headphones, and a number of books. He ended the message with a brief “Hmmm,” reflecting his shock and disappointment.

Several hours later, he returned with a surprising update: the Google Pixel had been found, though badly damaged. According to him, the device may have slipped from the robber during the escape and was later run over by a vehicle, leaving it completely destroyed.

Barker-Vormawor has yet to explain the circumstances surrounding the attack or indicate whether the case has been reported to the police.

The development has triggered concern online, with many calling for stronger security measures along major routes in the city.
