Ministry of Lands engages Amantena residents on mining regulations

-

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has engaged residents of Amantena to foster collaboration between the government and large-scale mining companies, while ensuring proper regulation of mining activities.

Speaking to Adom News, Frank Asare, National Coordinator for the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skill Development Programme, said the engagement serves two key purposes: to educate residents on mining operations and to formally invite them to the upcoming launch of the government’s alternative livelihood initiative.

Asare emphasized the government’s vision for large-scale mining firms to actively support and develop small-scale mining activities within their host communities.

Meanwhile, Sule Isaac, Assembly Member for the Amantena Electoral Area, noted that the government remains committed to enforcing proper mining regulations in the community.
