Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has expressed optimism about the Black Stars’ prospects at the 2026 World Cup.
Ghana secured qualification for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico next summer.
In an interview with CitiSports, Johnson praised the squad’s quality, noting that the four-time African champions have the talent to compete on football’s biggest stage.
“It’s not all that difficult. They are going to play against the same teams they are used to, so it’s going to be a different story altogether,” he said.
“They have to start preparing now. They need to give us hope, and I’m confident this time they will make an impact at the World Cup,” Johnson added.
The Black Stars will make their fifth World Cup appearance, with the group-stage draw scheduled for December 5, 2025.
