Self-acclaimed spiritualist and suspected robber arrested in Juaboso

A notorious self-acclaimed spiritualist and suspected armed robber, Victor Biney, popularly known as Abeiku, has been arrested by the Juaboso District Police Command after allegedly leading a violent attack on miners at Sehwi Antobia in the Western North Region.

Police report that the suspect, together with a group of accomplices, stormed a mining site in an attempted robbery.

Officers responded swiftly to a tip-off and succeeded in arresting Biney, who is believed to be the ringleader.

A search conducted on him led to the retrieval of talismans, a firearm, AAA cartridges, knives, torchlights, and other items suspected to be used in his illegal operations.

Investigators say Biney is linked to multiple robbery incidents within the Juaboso enclave.
He also has an ongoing case at the Bibiani Circuit Court, with judgment expected on December 9, 2025.

Community sources allege that he has been recruiting young men and empowering them with supposed “black powers” believed to offer protection against guns and cutlasses.

Police further suspect that Biney and his syndicate orchestrated the widely circulated daylight robbery in Juaboso, during which one person was shot dead and a large amount of money stolen from a wholesale shop.

Biney has since been arraigned before the Juaboso Magistrate Court and remanded into police custody for two weeks as investigations continue.
