Musician Edem says he has been left with no choice but to step back from assisting fellow artiste Agbeko after the embattled singer rejected all attempts to get him into rehabilitation.
In a statement shared on social media, Edem revealed that his team had followed up on Agbeko after his emotional interview on Hitz FM, during which he admitted to drug abuse and severe financial hardship.
According to Edem, his team committed their time and resources to support Agbeko, hoping to help him begin a new chapter.
On the day of the planned intervention, Edem said he personally spent hours with Agbeko—taking him to a salon, sharing a meal with him, and later accompanying him to the Pantang health facility for professional assistance.

However, despite the coordinated effort and guidance from health officials, Agbeko reportedly refused to enter the rehabilitation programme.
“It’s with deep disappointment that I want to inform all well-wishers and family that the entire team followed up on Agbeko and we did everything possible to get him on a new path… even with professional effort and guidance, he refused,” Edem wrote.
Agbeko, once a household name in Ghana’s music scene, has in recent years struggled with drug addiction, a decline that became more apparent during his recent appearance on Hitz FM.
Host Andy Dosty even offered to personally fund his rehabilitation, but that offer was also declined.
Edem says he hopes Agbeko eventually accepts help, but for now, there is little more he or his team can do.
