The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has announced that Ghanaian students can now access Google’s Gemini App free of charge for 12 months, along with 2TB of cloud storage and complimentary AI certification training.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader push to equip young people with modern digital skills and enhance access to advanced technology tools.
“Until December 9, 2025, Ghanaian students can sign up to use @GeminiApp for free for 12 months with 2TB storage. You also get free AI Certification training,” Sam George said in a post on X.
This offer follows ongoing collaborations between the Ministry of Communications and Google, which have already resulted in the establishment of the AI Research Lab and the One Million Coders Programme.
Sam George noted that these partnerships will continue to expand to benefit more students across the country.
He added that the initiative is designed not only to improve digital literacy but also to ease financial pressure on families.
“This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” he said.
Eligible students can register through the Gemini Pro portal at gemini.google/students and apply for the AI training programme via the provided application form.
The offer is open to all qualifying Ghanaian students and runs until December 9, 2025.
