TDC Ghana introduces mandatory military training for NSS personnel

TDC Ghana Limited has announced a new policy requiring all National Service Personnel assigned to the company to undergo a two-week basic military and disciplinary training before beginning their official duties.

According to the Managing Director, Courage Nunekpeku, the initiative aims to build discipline, teamwork, and professionalism among young graduates working with the company.

He made the announcement during a colourful passing-out parade for TDC’s newly trained Security Task Force at the First Infantry Battalion (1BN), Michel Camp.

The event, commanded by Trainee Alex Alemah, saw 38 personnel successfully complete an intensive two-week training programme held in partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces.

In his address, Mr. Nunekpeku expressed appreciation to the 1BN leadership for their role in transforming TDC’s Security Task Force into a disciplined and professional unit.

He described the moment as a significant milestone in the company’s growth, stressing that discipline, emotional intelligence, and first aid competence are essential qualities for effective security operations.

He also revealed that future recruitment for the Security Task Force will be conducted jointly to ensure uniform standards and consistency across all training sessions.

Mr. Nunekpeku urged the graduates to uphold integrity, serve as ambassadors of TDC, and help maintain law and order within the Tema Acquisition Area—particularly in tackling land encroachment issues.

The Managing Director further commended Lt. Col. Frank Adams, Commanding Officer of the First Infantry Battalion, for his leadership and continuous collaboration, reaffirming TDC’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces.

The passing-out ceremony marked another milestone in TDC Ghana Ltd’s quest to promote institutional discipline, professionalism, and security excellence through strategic collaboration with the military.
