Prof. Opoku-Agyemang joins world leaders in Brussels for EU Global Gateway Forum

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is in Brussels, Belgium, leading Ghana’s delegation to the 2025 Global Gateway Forum, a flagship event organised by the European Union (EU).

The two-day forum, taking place from October 9 to 10, 2025, brings together Heads of State and Government, business leaders, civil society organisations, and financial institutions to explore ways of strengthening global partnerships in an increasingly multipolar world.

This year’s edition is themed around advancing global connectivity amid current geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, with discussions expected to focus on sustainable investments in energy, digital technology, infrastructure, education, and health.

The Global Gateway Initiative represents the EU’s strategic effort to promote smart, clean, and secure connections across key sectors while supporting resilient and inclusive growth globally.

According to organisers, the forum seeks to mobilise up to €300 billion in investments to foster sustainable development and equitable partnerships between Europe and the rest of the world.

The Vice President’s participation underscores Ghana’s ongoing commitment to building strategic partnerships that drive digital innovation, energy transition, and economic transformation.

The 2025 edition is expected to deepen those engagements and strengthen cooperation with African and global partners.
