The hospitality landscape in Ghana has been elevated with the grand opening of The Pelican Hotel, Cantonments, Accra, a new luxury destination designed to blend modern elegance with authentic Ghanaian hospitality.
The ceremony, held at the hotel’s premises in Cantonments, Accra, attracted key government officials, business leaders, and stakeholders in the tourism and real estate sectors. The event marked a major milestone for Ghana’s fast-growing tourism industry.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Philippe Hitti, General Manager of The Pelican Hotel, described the opening as “the realization of a vision carefully crafted with passion, dedication, and excellence.”
Mr Kofi Okyere-Darko, Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, praised the development as a strong boost to Ghana’s tourism potential, especially ahead of the “December in Ghana” festivities.
He commended Devtraco Group, the project’s developers, for their contribution to job creation and the country’s hospitality sector.
The ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting session led by dignitaries, including Mr Joseph Aidoo Snr, Founder of Devtraco Group; Mr Neil George, Executive Director of Aleph Hospitality; Mr Hitti, and Mr Okyere-Darko.
Guests were later treated to guided tours of the hotel’s state-of-the-art rooms and facilities, followed by an exquisite culinary showcase and networking session.
According to Mr George, Aleph Hospitality aims to position The Pelican as “a haven where authentic Ghanaian warmth meets global hospitality standards.”
Located in the prestigious Cantonments enclave, The Pelican Hotel offers 134 rooms and suites, nearly 200 square meters of meeting space, a swimming pool, fitness center, and an impressive range of dining options, including The Atrium, The Beak Bistro, and the soon-to-open Mandarin Moon—an Asian-inspired fine dining experience.
