Matchday 4 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League wrapped up across various venues with thrilling results and standout performances.
The round kicked off on Friday at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, where Hearts of Oak extended their unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Bechem United.
On Saturday, Bibiani GoldStars earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium. After a tight first half, Michael Nkoah’s strike after the break proved decisive for the Miners.
Sunday’s fixtures delivered more drama. At the Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko were held to a 0-0 draw by Heart of Lions, who continue to impress early in the season.
In Berekum, Chelsea claimed their first win of the campaign, defeating Basake Holy Stars 2-0 at the Golden City Park. Goals from Faisal Shaibu and Prince Anane secured the points for the home side.
At the Tuba Astro Turf, Dreams FC were forced to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Vision FC. Daniel Yemoh gave Dreams the lead before John Antwi equalised for Vision in the second half.
Meanwhile, Hohoe United delivered a dominant display, thrashing Karela United 4-1. Safianu Usman bagged a brace, while William Oduro and Ati Sena were also on target. Bless Ege netted a late consolation for the visitors.
In Tarkwa, Medeama SC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over Nations FC at the TNA Park. Emmanuel Owusu opened the scoring for the hosts before Emmanuel Annor levelled for Nations. However, Abdul Salam struck the winner in the 82nd minute to seal all three points.
Elsewhere, Eleven Wonders’ woes deepened as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Young Apostles at the Swedru Stadium.
The scheduled clash between FC Samartex and Aduana FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena was postponed due to heavy rainfall.
After four rounds of matches, Heart of Lions, Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak, and Aduana FC occupy the top four positions on the league table, while Basake Holy Stars, Dreams FC, and Eleven Wonders remain in the relegation zone.
