Police urged to curb reckless motor riding in Kenyasi

The Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) – Peace Temple in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, Reverend Smart Gunda, has appealed to the police to implement stricter measures to curb reckless motor riding in the area, which he says is endangering the lives of innocent people.

He made the appeal during the church’s 20th anniversary celebration and sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an ultra-modern church building.

Speaking to Adom News, Reverend Gunda lamented that reckless riding practices such as overspeeding and wrongful overtaking by both commercial and private motorbike riders are causing accidents, leading to injuries and deaths among residents and pedestrians.

He stressed that the clergy, as key stakeholders in the community, must not remain silent but rather speak up and urge the police to act decisively to address the situation, which he described as alarming due to the increasing number of accidents recorded in recent times.

Meanwhile, Reverend Samuel Nuako, Head Pastor of ICGC Weija in the Greater Accra Region, expressed concern over the growing involvement of the youth in social vices, warning that it poses a serious threat to the nation’s moral fabric.

He emphasized that to effectively tackle indiscipline among the youth, school authorities must integrate gospel teachings into students’ moral and character training.
